Life, Liberty, Leesburg!

Dear Leesburg Neighbor,

As someone who lives in and owns a small business in Leesburg, I am sensitive to the burden of excessive taxes and government in our town. I am dedicated to lowering taxes, reining in the bureaucracy and eliminating unnecessary regulations that hurt our busnesses and families.

This is my online campaign headquarters. Check back often for information about my campaign for Leesburg Town Council.

Below are some of the issues I believe are vital to the future of Leesburg. These issues include: Lower taxes

Oppose Expanding Town Hall -
I believe that when government gets too big, we have to cut it back, not give it more room to grow! It's already projected to cost $7.4 million. Imagine if we can save that money, as well as the money we spend on excessive bureaucracy in our Town Hall.
Make Leesburg More Business Friendly -
We also need to maintain the quality of life that the Leesburg community deserves. 72% of our tax base comes from homeowners, and 28% from businesses. We need to tip the scales in the opposite direction - not by raising taxes on businesses, but by cutting them. By cutting taxes and cumbersome regulations, Leesburg will attract more businesses who will ease the burden on homeowners. We need a business friendly town to attract businesses that will relieve the tax burden off the residents, who are footing most of the bill.
Eliminate Double Taxation -
Town leaders agree that we are overburdened by double taxation but say that the county should make the changes. If they really wanted to eliminate this onerous burden on Leesburg families, they would start locally. We need to reduce excessive bureaucracy in Town Hall. I believe we need to stop pointing fingers and start cutting back the duplicated, excessive bureaucracy in Town Government.
Support and Strengthen Public Safety -
As the son of a retired New York City cop, I respect the police for the difficult job they are expected to do. We need to make sure they are prepared to tackle the looming gang problems in Leesburg before its too late.
These are some of the issues I am running on. I hope you will join me in the fight by supporting my campaign.

Sincerely,
Jim
